I own a bakery and needed after hours service on a Saturday. Not the most ideal, but I called Smith and within a few minutes I received a call back and within 25 minutes help arrived. Was completely blown away and relieved by how quickly that all happened. Keith was so great and friendly, explained how some things work to me without being condescending, and most importantly, fixed the problem. Was the best case scenario, honestly, so thank you again Keith!!

We highly recommend Smith Mechanical! Called them when we lost heat during the winter and they were able to fix it fast! They communicate well, work efficiently, explained everything clearly and left everything clean when they finished the job. Field techs did great work with great attitudes and excellent attention to detail. Pricing was very fair and scheduling was easy, they even showed up and finished when they said they would. Really enjoyed working with the technicians, they were able to resolve every issue that arose and left me with great peace of mind. Strongly recommend this company.

I have been using Smith Mechanical for about three years here in Bellingham, WA. Their technicians are always friendly, professional, and do a great job. I'm not a review writer, but this call was above and beyond my expectations. Recently, my furnace would not kick on for gas heat (the heat pump worked, but when it tried to use NG, it wouldn't start). Since it was November and cold, they were able to get a technician out the next day. He worked on the furnace for 4 hours, replacing several components, but the problem persisted. The technician even came to our house on one of his day's off to try and solve the problem! Long story short, they spent three 3+ hour days trying to diagnose the problem and finally found it; a pressure switch that burned out but was not relaying a fault code to the main board. Extremely rare and hard to find. They could've charged me for the items they tried replacing to find the problem and I would've been none the wiser. They did not. They kept me fully informed the whole time. I was expecting a huge bill, but at the end, they took off two of the days hours, one day of call out, and didn't charge me for any parts except those that they had to replace. That saved me literally over $1800. Amazing customer service, great technicians, and extremely trustworthy. They will always be my first call as long as I live in Whatcom County!

We paid $18,000 for a heat pump. It's less than 3 years old and has broken down twice. $600 bill the last repair. Now the heat and air conditioner doesn't work! I went and bought a $75 window air conditioner that keeps out whole house cool. Should of done that in the first place!! To anyone wanting to pay an absurd amount of money for a heat pump from smith west mechanical I highly recommend not too!!

Our goal is always to stand behind our work and support our customers. We installed your system in 2022, and the first time we heard of an issue was in March 2025. At that time, we replaced a failed fan motor. The part was under warranty, though the labor was not, which we understand was frustrating. Most recently, you contacted us on July 28, 2025, letting us know your system wasn’t working. Since then, we’ve made multiple attempts to reach you to schedule a technician to diagnose and resolve the issue, but haven’t heard back. We’re eager to help but are unable to do so without communication. Please give us a call at your earliest convenience so we can make this right. Not gonna give a one star review but y’all need to teach your drivers how to use a blinker, I just saw two of your guys vehicles turn on to second ave here in Ferndale, it’s reckless and endangering.

When I called Smith Mechanical to give me a quote on a solution for our home they came and thoroughly examined our space, and asked about our needs, status of existing A/C unit, furnace, etc. They provided the most energy-efficient options, he was keen to listen to his customer's wishes. This past winter our furnace went out. We called Smith Mechanical and talked to Bill Hackett. Even tho we were not existing clients, when he heard we had been without heat for 6 weeks, he came directly to our house from work (on his way to the airport!) and arranged to get us a new furnace installed within 2 weeks. The company we’d been working with weren’t able to get out to even talk about a new furnace for two weeks! The following day, Bill called from Texas to say he had found a better deal for us. So appreciate his personal attention to our needs. They installed the furnace on the date promised and it works great. So grateful for their prompt response, and for heat!
